People & families
Donors, households, Hebrew names, tags, duplicates
- Add a new person (or edit someone's details)
Add a donor, member or anyone else to People with their English and Hebrew names, phones, email, address, tags and how they want receipts. Editing uses the same form.
9 steps · Office staff - Find a person fast
Three quick ways to find anyone: the search box at the top of every page, the People list search, and Ctrl+K. Search by English or Hebrew name, phone, email or account number.
5 steps · Everyone - Add Hebrew names and the father's name correctly
Each person has a full Hebrew name — title, first name, last name, suffix and father's name — used on Hebrew receipts, yahrzeit lists and for search. Here is how to fill each box.
6 steps · Office staff - Link family members (spouse, children, parents, in-laws)
Link relatives so they show on each other's pages and in the household view. You link once — Yahiv adds the opposite link by itself.
5 steps · Office staff - Add a spouse and set up a household
A husband and wife who both give, or a family that pays together: add the spouse, link them, add children, then see the whole family's giving in one place.
4 steps · Office staff - Household view and household statement
See a whole family's giving together — the person, their spouse and children — and print one statement for the household.
4 steps · Office staff - Merge two duplicate records of the same person
When the same person was entered twice, combine the two records into one. All gifts, pledges, recurring gifts, cards, family links and messages move to the record you keep.
4 steps · Owners & admins - Someone passed away or asked not to be contacted
Stop all receipts, reminders and messages to a person while keeping their giving history. Yahiv has no separate “deceased” switch, so you combine a few settings.
7 steps · Office staff - Tag people and use tags
Tags are short labels like “board”, “kiddush” or “young-couples”. Use them to find groups, filter lists, and send messages to just those people.
5 steps · Office staff - Save a People view you use often
Set up a filtered People list once — for example “Lakewood members who owe” — and save it with a name. It appears on the left of People every time.
4 steps · Office staff - Custom fields: track your own details on each person
Add your own boxes to every person — yeshiva, kehilla, seat number, spouse's maiden name — as text, number, date or a drop-down list.
5 steps · Owners & admins - Choose how one person gets receipts and statements
Set, per person, whether receipts go by email, text, WhatsApp, printed mail or not at all, and whether they get a regular giving summary or a bill for what they owe.
6 steps · Office staff - Save a credit card or bank account on a person
Keep a card or bank account on file so you can charge future gifts or recurring payments without asking for the number again. Nothing is charged when you save it.
5 steps · Office staff - Log a call or note, and set a follow-up
Keep a record of every call, meeting or visit on the person's page, and set a follow-up so you (or a colleague) remember to call back.
5 steps · Office staff - Remove a person (and bring them back)
Remove people who shouldn't be in your list, like test entries. They go to the Recycle bin for 30 days and can be brought back.
3 steps · Owners & admins - Donor scores and trends
Every night Yahiv gives each person a score from 3 to 15 based on how recently, how often and how much they gave, plus a trend like “Giving more” or “Slipping away”. Use it to decide who to call.
4 steps · Office staff - Keep files on a person (DAF letters, signed forms, photos)
Upload PDFs, pictures, Word or Excel files to a person's page so DAF letters, signed forms and paperwork are always with them.
