Link family members (spouse, children, parents, in-laws)
Link relatives so they show on each other's pages and in the household view. You link once — Yahiv adds the opposite link by itself.
Before you start
- Both people are already in People.
- 1
Open one of the people
Open the person's page. On the left, scroll to “Household & family”.
The “Household & family” box. - 2
Pick the relative
In the search box inside “Household & family”, type the relative's name and click them in the list.
Find the relative. - 3
Choose how they are related
In “They are this person's…”, choose Spouse, Son / Daughter, Father / Mother, Brother / Sister, Son- / Daughter-in-law, Father- / Mother-in-law, Grandchild, Grandparent or Other relative. Read it as: the person you picked is this person's ___.
“They are this person's…” - 4
Click “Link”
Click “Link”. The relative shows in the list with the relation in English and Hebrew. Their page shows the opposite link (for example Son on one side, Father on the other).
Link them. - 5
Remove a link
Click the small × next to a relative to unlink them. Both sides are removed.
Click × to unlink.
Tips
- Set each person's Gender first so labels read right (Son vs Daughter).
- Spouse and children make up the household — see “Household view and household statement”.
- Family members also appear in the People “Full download”.
If something isn't working
It says “Choose a family member and relation”.
Click a name from the drop-down list (not just type it) and choose the relation before clicking Link. You also can't link a person to themselves.
The relation shows the wrong way round.
Click × to unlink, then link again choosing the opposite relation. Remember: the person you picked is this person's ___.
