The Zelle inbox: Zelle gifts recorded by themselves
Yahiv gives you a receive-only email address for Zelle. Your bank emails it every time money comes in, and Yahiv records the gift on the right person and sends the receipt.
Before you start
- Owner or Admin.
- Access to your bank's app or website for the account that receives Zelle.
- 1
Open Zelle inbox
Settings → "Zelle inbox". At the top is "Your Zelle address" — your account number at Yahiv's inbox domain.
Your own Zelle address. Nothing can be sent from it — it only receives. - 2
Turn it on and tick your bank
Tick "Turn on the Zelle inbox" and tick your bank. Bank not listed? Type its email domain in "Bank not listed? Its email domain".
Tick your bank — only signed emails from it are accepted. - 3
Choose who gets a copy
Under "Forward each email to" tick the Owners/Admins who should get each email. Press "Save".
Who gets a copy of each Zelle email. - 4
Add the address at your bank
Follow "Set up the Zelle inbox with your bank": add the address to Zelle in your bank's app and type the code the bank sends.
- 5
Watch it work
Each "you received money" email becomes a Zelle gift, matched by: a Zelle name matched before, the sender's email or phone (if the bank shows it), "#account" in the memo, an exact name, or a pledge number in the memo.
- 6
Handle the ones it couldn't match
Unmatched payments wait under "Needs a person" with Yahiv's best guesses. Pick once — the name is remembered next time. (See "Zelle: a payment needs a person".)
Payments waiting for a person.
Tips
- Only your bank (and Zelle) can write to the address — every email must carry the bank's digital signature. Everything else is refused unread and listed under "Refused mail".
- Tell donors: to pay a pledge, write the pledge number in the memo, e.g. "pledge 12" or "P12".
If something isn't working
"Choose your bank first".
You turned the inbox on without ticking a bank. Tick it (or type its domain) and Save.
"Personal email services can't be allowed — only your bank's own domain".
You typed gmail.com or similar. Type your bank's own domain, e.g. alerts.mycommunitybank.com.
"Not a valid domain: …".
Type just the domain (no @, no https://), e.g. mycommunitybank.com.
Bank emails show under "Refused mail".
The email came from a domain you didn't tick. Look at the domain listed, and add it under "Bank not listed?" if it's really your bank.
