Connect your payment processors
A processor is the company that actually charges a card or bank account (Sola/Cardknox, Stripe, NMI, USAePay…). Connect yours once and Yahiv can charge cards from the gift form, the giving page, the kiosk, the phone line and texts.
Before you start
- Only the account Owner can connect or edit processors. Admins can see the page but not change it.
- Have your processor's keys ready (your processor's rep can give them to you). Stripe needs no keys — you just sign in.
- 1
Open Payment processors
Click your name (top right) → Settings. In the left list, under "Giving", click "Payment processors". At the top you see every connection you already have, with badges like "default", "active" or "disabled".
Your connections are listed at the top; each shows if it is the default and if it is active. - 2
See what you have now
A new account starts with "Test mode (no real charges)". It lets you try everything with test cards. No real money moves until you connect a real processor.
The test connection every new account starts with. - 3
Stripe: one button
Under "Connect a processor" there is a Stripe box. Press "Connect with Stripe", sign in to Stripe and approve. You come back to Yahiv and see "Stripe connected". No keys to copy. (See "Connect Stripe".)
Stripe connects with one button — no keys. - 4
Any other processor: pick it
Under "Any other processor", type a "Name for this connection" (e.g. Main Cardknox) and choose it in the "Processor" list. The list is grouped: Credit card gateways, ACH, Charity cards / DAFs, Israel, Import / sync.
Choose your processor from the list. - 5
Fill in the keys
The boxes change to match the processor you picked. Paste each key into its box. A grey line above the boxes tells you how this processor works with Yahiv (for example "Full integration" or "NMI-compatible connector").
The boxes for Cardknox / Sola: Transaction key (xKey) and iFields key. - 6
Press Connect
Press "Connect". You see "… saved — refresh to see it in the list." Refresh the page: the new connection is at the top, marked "active". Secret keys are locked away (encrypted) and are never shown again.
- 7
Choose your default
On the new connection press "Make default". The default is used whenever nothing else (a rule or a campaign) says otherwise. Then press "Disable" on "Test mode (no real charges)" so nobody charges a test card by mistake.
- 8
Try a small real gift
Record a $1 card gift to yourself (Record → Gift) and refund it from the gift page. If it goes through, you are ready.
Tips
- You can connect as many processors as you like — for example Sola for cards and Zeffy for very large gifts. "Processor rules & fees" decides which one each gift uses.
- Card numbers are typed into the processor's own secure boxes and never touch Yahiv's servers.
- Each campaign can send its money to its own processor (Campaigns → open the campaign → "Money for this campaign goes to").
- To change a key later, open "Edit credentials" under the connection. Leave a secret box empty to keep the saved one.
If something isn't working
"Only the account owner can connect or edit processors."
Ask the Owner of your Yahiv account to sign in and do it, or to make you the Owner under Settings → Team & roles.
"Transaction key (xKey) is required" (or another key "is required").
That box is empty. Every box without "(optional)" must be filled. Ask your processor's rep for the missing key.
"Endpoint must be an https URL".
For NMI-based processors the API endpoint must start with https://. Leave it empty to use the normal NMI address.
The gift form says "No payment processor is connected. Go to Settings → Payment processors."
Every connection is disabled, or none was added. Connect one, or press "Enable" on a disabled one.
A connection shows "awaiting activation".
Some processors (for example ACHQ, CardCom, PeleCard) share their technical details only with approved partners. Your keys are saved and it goes live once Yahiv adds that processor. Use another processor in the meantime.
