Put your own pictures on your website

Every picture on your website can be your own: the big welcome picture, pictures beside words, galleries, your team, backgrounds behind any section, your logo, the browser-tab icon and the picture shown when your site is shared.

Before you start

  • JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF or an iPhone (HEIC) photo, up to 8 MB.
  1. 1

    Pick the block

In the editor, click the block in the preview (or in the list). Blocks with a picture have a box that says "+ Add a picture".

  2. 2

    Drop or choose

Drop the picture on the box, or tap it to choose one from your computer or phone. Big photos are made smaller by themselves so the site stays fast.

  3. 3

    Describe it

Type a few words describing the picture — people who use screen readers hear them, and Google reads them too.

  4. 4

    A background behind any section

Open "Background, spacing & width" under the block's settings, choose "Picture", add it, and move "Darken it" until the writing on it is easy to read.

  5. 5

Logo, tab icon and sharing picture

Website → "Colours, fonts, menu & footer" → "Logo, tab icon & sharing picture". Your logo from Settings → Page design is used until you add one here.

If something isn't working

"That picture is too big — the most is 8 MB."

Choose a smaller photo, or send it to yourself on WhatsApp first (that shrinks it).
