Apple Pay and Google Pay on your giving page
With Stripe, donors with a wallet on their phone or computer see an Apple Pay / Google Pay button — two taps, no card typing.
Before you start
- Stripe is connected and is the processor for the page (default, rule or the campaign's processor).
- 1
Connect Stripe
Settings → Payment processors → "Connect with Stripe". See "Connect Stripe".
Stripe connects with one button. - 2
Nothing else to turn on
The button appears by itself on the giving page.
- 3
When donors see it
Only on a device that has Apple Pay or Google Pay set up, once an amount is chosen, for one-time gifts (not "Give monthly"). It sits above the card boxes with "— or pay by card —".
On a phone with a wallet, the button shows above the card boxes. - 4
Name and email
If the donor hasn't typed them, the wallet fills them in. If the wallet doesn't share them, the page asks: "Please fill in your name and email first".
- 5
In person
At an event use Collect → "Show a QR code": the donor scans it and pays on their phone with Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Collect's QR lets donors pay on their own phone.
Tips
- Sola, NMI and USAePay pages take cards normally; the wallet button is a Stripe feature.
- Wallet gifts get the same receipt and show the same way under Giving.
If something isn't working
I don't see the button on my phone.
Check that the page uses Stripe, that an amount is chosen, "Give once" is selected, and that your phone's wallet has a card.
"Please fill in your name and email first".
The wallet didn't share them. Type name and email on the page, then tap the wallet button again.
It shows on a campaign page but not the main page (or the other way).
That page uses another processor (a rule or the campaign's own processor). Only Stripe pages show it.
