Donor signs in to the portal with a code

No passwords: the donor types their email or cell, gets a 6-digit code, and types it in.

Sign in to Yahiv
  1. 1

    Open the portal

The donor opens /portal/<your page link> (or "See your past giving…" on the giving page). The page says "See your giving".

Type the email or cell you gave us.
  2. 2

    Email or cell

They type the email or cell phone on file and press "Send me a code".

    Send me a code.
  3. 3

    The code arrives

The page says "If … is on file with us, we just sent a 6-digit code there." The message reads "123456 is your … sign-in code. It works for 10 minutes."

  4. 4

    Type it

They type the 6 digits and press "Sign in".

The email and cell on the person's profile are where codes go.
  5. 5

    Skip the code next time

Right after signing in they're offered "Skip the code next time?" — Face ID / fingerprint. See "Donor sets up Face ID".

Tips

  • The page always answers the same way, whether or not the address is on file — so nobody can test addresses. If the code never comes, the address probably isn't on their record.
  • Codes are free to send — they don't count toward your texting costs.

If something isn't working

"That code didn't work — check it, or ask for a new one".

Codes work for 10 minutes and once only, with up to 5 tries. Press "Use a different email or phone" and ask for a new one.

The code never arrives.

Check the email/cell on their profile in People. Fix it, or ask them to try the other one (cell instead of email).

"Sign-in is paused for Shabbos / Yom Tov — please try again afterwards".

That's on purpose. It works again after Shabbos.

"Too many tries — wait a while".

Wait an hour and try again.
