Set up the lobby giving kiosk
Turn any tablet into a giving kiosk: big "Tap to give" buttons, card payment, and it resets itself after a minute.
Before you start
- A card processor is connected.
- Your page link (Settings → Profile & branding → "Public page link"), e.g. demo-shul.
- 1
Choose the amounts
The kiosk shows up to six of your preset amounts (Settings → "Amounts & messages" → "Preset amounts"; monthly ones are skipped). With no presets it shows $18 to $360.
The preset amounts are the kiosk's buttons. - 2
Open the kiosk on the tablet
On the tablet's browser open /kiosk/<your page link> on your giving address, e.g. …/kiosk/demo-shul. For one campaign add ?c=<campaign link>, e.g. …/kiosk/demo-shul?c=building.
The kiosk: tap an amount. - 3
Lock it to the kiosk
Use the tablet's own lock (iPad: Guided Access; Android: screen pinning) so people can't leave the page. Keep it plugged in.
- 4
How people use it
Tap an amount (or "Other amount" → Next), type the card, optionally "Want a tax receipt? Add your name & email", and press "Give". They see "Thank you! Tizku l'mitzvos".
A kiosk for one campaign shows the campaign's name. - 5
It resets itself
After 8 seconds on the thank-you, or a minute of no use, it goes back to the start.
Tips
- Anonymous kiosk gifts without a name still count in your totals.
- The kiosk is protected by the same card-testing protection as the giving page.
If something isn't working
The card boxes don't appear.
No card processor is set for the kiosk (or the campaign uses Zeffy). Check Settings → Payment processors and the campaign's processor.
The page says it can't be found.
Check the page link: it's the "Public page link" under Settings → Profile & branding. For ?c=, use the campaign's page link and make sure the campaign is public.
"Other amount" does nothing.
The amount must be at least $1.
