Naming and dedication opportunities
List everything that can be dedicated — rooms, the aron kodesh, seforim, bricks — with prices. Each one taken becomes a pledge, and when it's paid in full it goes on the list of inscriptions to make.
Before you start
- Your login can record gifts.
- 1
Open Dedications
Click "Campaigns", then the "Dedications" tab. At the top: "Taken (value)", "Still open" and "Inscriptions to make".
Everything that can be dedicated. - 2
Add something to dedicate
Under "Add something to dedicate" type the name (e.g. "Aron Kodesh"), a "Group" (Rooms, Seforim, Bricks…), "Price $" and "How many" (1 for a room, 200 for bricks). Pick a campaign and click "Add".
Use "How many" for bricks or leaves. - 3
Reserve one for a donor
Click the item to open it. Pick the person, type the "Inscription" (e.g. לע״נ …), change the amount if needed, and click "Reserve". It's a pledge now, marked "reserved — owes".
- 4
Share the public page
Click "Public page ↗". Donors pick what to dedicate, type their inscription, and pay. It's held for an hour while they pay ("paying online").
Donors choose and pay online. - 5
Add a picture
Open the item: at the top, drop a picture on the box or tap to choose (a photo of the room, the aron kodesh…). It shows on the item's box on the public page. Saved as soon as you add it.
- 6
Inscriptions to make
When a pledge is paid in full, it shows under "Inscriptions to make (paid in full)" with the wording. Print the page for the engraver.
- 7
Mark it made
When the plaque is up, click "Made ✓". It leaves the list.
Tips
- Hebrew inscriptions print right-to-left in large type.
- "Stop offering" in an item's "edit" hides it from the public page without losing who took it.
If something isn't working
An item disappeared from the public page.
All of them are taken, or "On the public page" isn't ticked, or "Stop offering" is ticked.
An online reservation vanished.
Online reservations are held one hour while the donor pays. If they didn't pay, it's released.
I need to cancel a reservation.
Open the item and click "cancel" next to it. A dedication that's already paid in full can't be cancelled here — handle the payment first.
