Cancel a pledge (and restore it)
Cancel a commitment that was entered by mistake or that the donor took back. It stops counting as owed and can be restored later.

Before you start
- You are an Owner or Admin.

Open the commitment
Scroll to the bottom of the commitment's page.

Cancel it
Click “Cancel pledge” and confirm “Cancel this pledge? Its balance will no longer count as open.” Any installment plan paying it stops.

Restore it
Open the same commitment and click “Restore”, or use Settings → Recycle bin → Cancelled pledges → “Restore” (within 30 days).
Tips
- Payments already made stay on record; move them to another commitment if needed.
- A real pledge that won't be paid is better written off — see “Write off a pledge”.
If something isn't working
It says “Sent for approval — a second admin has to approve cancelling this pledge”.
Your organization uses two-person approval. Another Owner or Admin approves it under Approvals.
I don't see the Cancel box.
Only Owners and Admins can cancel commitments.
