Write off a pledge that won't be paid
When you've given up on collecting the rest of a pledge, write it off. The balance comes off every total, but the pledge and its history stay on record.

Before you start
- You are an Owner or Admin.

Open the commitment
Open it and find the “Collecting” box.

Choose “Written off”
In Status choose “Written off”.

Say why
Type the reason in Note (for example “Moved to Eretz Yisroel, family situation”). It's required and kept on record.

Save
Click “Save”. The badge shows “Written off · $…”. Any installment plan on it stops, and a note goes on the person's Activity.
Tips
- Payments already made stay counted. Only the unpaid rest is written off.
- Changed your mind? Set Status back to “Normal” and Save — the balance is open again.
- Write off vs cancel: write off when it was a real pledge that won't be paid; cancel when it was entered by mistake.
If something isn't working
It says “Only an admin can write off a commitment”.
Ask an Owner or Admin to do it.
It says “Say why (it's kept on record)”.
Type a reason in the Note box.
