The shul screen shows the wrong times
Zmanim on the shul screen come from your location, candle-lighting minutes and time zone. If they're off, one of those is set wrong.
- 1
Check "Zmanim for"
Programs → "Shul screen" → "The screen" → "Zmanim to show" → "Zmanim for": choose your city.
The city used for zmanim. - 2
Candle lighting minutes
"Candle lighting: minutes before shkiah" — for example 18, or 40 in Yerushalayim.
Minutes before shkiah. - 3
Time zone
Settings → "Profile & branding" → "Time zone" must be your real time zone, for example America/New_York. Every time is shown in it.
Your organization's time zone. - 4
Eretz Yisroel
In Israel, tick "In Eretz Yisroel (one day Yom Tov)" under Settings → Shabbos & Yom Tov.
One day Yom Tov in Eretz Yisroel. - 5
Minyanim set from a zman
A minyan set as, say, 15 minutes before shkiah moves every day and is rounded to 5 minutes. Check it on the "Minyanim" tab.
Each minyan and how its time is set. - 6
After nightfall
After nightfall the screen moves to the next Jewish day — that's on purpose.
Tips
- The same location and candle-lighting minutes are used by the Shabbos guard, so fixing one fixes both.
- Your city isn't listed? Choose "Other" in Shabbos & Yom Tov and type the latitude and longitude.
If something isn't working
Everything is exactly one hour off.
The time zone is wrong. Fix it under Settings → Profile & branding.
The screen didn't change after I saved.
It updates by itself within a minute or two. Reload the screen if needed.
