A refund shows "Refund in progress"
"Refund in progress" means a refund was asked for and isn't finished yet. The amount is held so nobody can refund it twice.

Bank refunds take days
A refund of a bank transfer is accepted right away but finished by the bank a few days later. It finishes by itself.
The gift shows "Refund in progress" until it's final. - 2
Don't refund again
While it says "Refund in progress", another refund of the same gift is stopped with "Another refund of this gift is in progress — wait a moment and look again". This protects the donor from a double refund.

If the processor didn't answer
If you saw "The processor didn't answer clearly — the refund may have gone through", Yahiv asks the processor again by itself. Where it can't, the refund goes to "Payments to check" and an alert says "A refund of … needs a check".
Refunds that need a person to check. - 4
Check the processor
Look up the charge in the processor's website. If the refund is there, mark it done in Yahiv; if not, mark it as not made — the amount is released and you can try again.

Two-person approval?
If your organization uses two-person approval, a refund may be waiting under Approvals for a second admin — that's different from "in progress".
Requests waiting for a second person.
Tips
- A refund of a closed month's gift still goes through — it counts in the month it's made.
- The receipt link keeps working and shows the refund.
If something isn't working
"This gift was approved without a transaction reference…"
Refund it in the processor's own dashboard, then add a note on the gift.
"The connection to the processor dropped and the refund wasn't made".
Nothing is held — try the refund again.
