I can't change a gift

A gift can be locked because its month is closed, the change needs a second person's approval, your login can't record or only sees its own results, or it's a card gift whose amount can't be edited.

    "… is closed"

"September 2026 is closed — gifts dated in it can't be added or changed." An admin can reopen it in Settings → "Month closing" with a reason.

    Closed months show "· closed".
  2. 2

    Card and processor gifts

"The amount and date of a card or processor gift can't be changed — refund it and record it again if it's wrong." You can still change the person, campaign, commitment and notes.

  3. 3

    Waiting for approval

With two-person approval on, a refund, void, cancelled pledge or deleted person waits under "Approvals" until another Owner or Admin approves. Nobody can approve their own request. Requests expire after 7 days.

    Waiting for a second person.
  4. 4

    Your permissions

"Can view" on Giving can't change gifts. Refunds and voids need "Refund, void & cancel commitments" (and the Refund card is for Admins). Ask an admin.

"Can view & record" is needed to change gifts.
  5. 5

    Own results only

A login limited to its own results can only open and change gifts credited to its fundraiser record.

  6. 6

    View-only account

If the red "View only" bar shows, all changes are paused until the subscription is renewed.

Renew the plan to make changes again.

Tips

  • Every change to a gift is kept in Settings → Activity log.
  • Two-person approval settings are under Settings → Sign-in & security.

If something isn't working

I need to fix a card gift's amount.

Refund it (or the difference) and record the right amount.

My approval request vanished.

Requests nobody decides on within 7 days expire. Ask again.
