QuickBooks says unauthorized or the connection expired
QuickBooks connections need renewing from time to time. When posting stops with "expired", "401" or "403", reconnect — nothing is posted twice.
- 1
Read the error
Settings → "Accounting": "Last error: QuickBooks connection expired — please connect again", or "QuickBooks said 401 …" / "403 …".
The error shows next to the connection. - 2
Disconnect
Press "Disconnect". Your account choices are kept.
- 3
Connect again
Press "Connect QuickBooks" and sign in as a QuickBooks admin. Choose the same company.
Sign in to QuickBooks again. - 4
Check the accounts
Make sure "Money comes into" and "Income account (default)" are still chosen, and press "Save accounts".
Check the accounts are still chosen. - 5
Post
Press "Post to QuickBooks now". Only days not yet posted are sent.
Tips
- Days that already went to QuickBooks are never sent twice, even after reconnecting.
- Connect with the same QuickBooks company as before.
If something isn't working
"That connection was for another organization".
Switch to the right Yahiv organization, then connect again.
It works, then expires again soon.
Someone may be revoking access in QuickBooks (Apps → Connected apps). Ask your bookkeeper.
Still stuck after all these checks?
Press the help button and ask Yahiv, or write to Yahiv support with what you tried and a screenshot. Nobody minds — that's what support is for.
