The donor portal sign-in code didn't arrive
Donors sign in to the portal with a 6-digit code sent to their email or cell. If it doesn't come, the email or phone they typed may not be on their record, or one of these limits applies.

Same email or phone as on file
The code goes only to an email or cell that's on their record in Yahiv (their first or second email, or cell phone). If they typed another one, nothing is sent — for privacy, the page doesn't say so. Check their profile and add it if right.

Spam and waiting
Ask them to check spam, and wait a minute. The code works for 10 minutes.

Shabbos and Yom Tov
"Sign-in is paused for Shabbos / Yom Tov — please try again afterwards" when your Shabbos guard is on.

Too many tries
At most 5 codes an hour per person. "Too many tries — wait a while" after many wrong codes. "That code didn't work — check it, or ask for a new one" for a typo or an old code.

Is the portal on?
Settings → "Profile & branding": "Donors can sign in to see their giving at /portal/…" must be ticked.

Is email/texting working?
If email or texting can't be sent, codes are only logged. See "Messages say logged only".

Tips
- Codes are free — they don't count toward contact limits or your text costs.
- Face ID / fingerprint sign-in saves waiting for codes next time.
If something isn't working
The donor has two records.
The code goes to the first match. Combine the duplicates.
The cell number has no country code.
US numbers work as 10 digits; others need + and the country code.
