An email went to spam

Inboxes send email to spam when your domain can't prove the email is really from you, when it's sent "from" a free address, or when it looks like a mass mailing.

  1. 1

    Run the Email delivery check

Settings → "Email delivery check" → "Check". Fix every "missing" line — the yellow box says exactly what to add.

    SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
  2. 2

    Use your own domain

Sending "from" gmail.com, yahoo.com or similar through a service like Resend gets blocked or sent to spam. With "Send through my own Resend account", set "Send from" to an address on your own domain, like office@yourshul.org. (With "Use Yahiv's email", emails come from Yahiv's address with your name, and replies go to your organization's email.)

Use an address on your own domain.
  3. 3

    Keep emails simple

Very short emails with one big link, all capitals, or many pictures look like spam. Write like a person.

Designed emails with a clear, simple layout.
  4. 4

    Ask donors to save you

Ask regular donors to add your address to their contacts, and to mark your email "Not spam" once.

  5. 5

    Check bounces

Insights → Health shows "Bounced emails and undelivered texts (30 days)". Fix or remove bad addresses.

Bounces in the last 30 days.

Tips

  • DNS changes can take an hour — check again later.
  • Only one SPF record is allowed on a domain.

If something isn't working

Only Gmail users get it in Promotions.

That's normal for newsletters. Personal-looking plain emails land in the main inbox more often.

Everything is "✓ found" but emails still go to spam.

Change DMARC from p=none to p=quarantine once SPF and DKIM pass, and keep messages personal.
