Israel: check that receipt numbers have no gaps
The Tax Authority expects receipts numbered without breaks. The receipt sequence check lists gaps, duplicates and voided receipts with the reason.
- 1
Open the report
Go to Settings → "Israel: Tax Authority report" and choose the year.
- 2
Find the check
Scroll to "Receipt sequence check".
- 3
Gaps
A missing number usually means a gift whose date was moved to another year, or one that was deleted.
- 4
Duplicates
"Duplicate" means the same number is on two separate gifts — click through to Giving → Gifts and look at them. A split gift shares one receipt and is not a duplicate.
Search for the receipt number in Giving. - 5
Voided
A voided receipt keeps its number and is simply left out of the report, with the reason listed.
Tips
- Yahiv numbers every receipt in order and never reuses a number.
- Close each month so dates can't move between years.
If something isn't working
A gap at the turn of the year.
A gift was probably moved to the other year. That's fine — explain it to your accountant.
Duplicates after an import.
Imported receipts keep their old numbers. Look at both gifts and tell your accountant.
