Give a gemach loan
Record a free loan (גמ״ח) with its guarantors and post-dated checks. Yahiv makes the payment schedule and prints a loan agreement to sign.
Before you start
- Your login has "See the chesed fund & gemach" (Settings → Team & roles). Owners and Admins have it.
- The borrower and guarantors are in People.

Open the gemach
Click "Chesed & gemach" in the top bar, then "Gemach (free loans)". The boxes show "Out on loan", "Coming back this month", "Late payments" and "Checks to deposit this week".
"Give a loan" is at the bottom. - 2
Borrower and amount
Under "Give a loan" pick the "Borrower", type the "Amount $" and how you gave it ("Check", "Cash" or "Bank transfer"), with the check number in "Check # / reference".

Payment schedule
"Paid back in … payments" (e.g. 10), "Every" month or week, and the "First payment" date. Yahiv splits the loan evenly.

Guarantors
Pick the "Guarantor (ערב)" and, if there is one, the "Second guarantor (optional)".
Up to two guarantors (ערבים). - 5
Post-dated checks
If the borrower gave you post-dated checks, type their numbers in order in "Post-dated checks we hold" (e.g. 1201, 1202, 1203). Each one is matched to a payment.

Make the loan
Type "What it's for (private)" if you want, and click "Make the loan". You land on the loan's page: "Loan #… made — the payment schedule is below".

Print the agreement
Click "Print loan agreement". It prints a שטר הלוואה with the schedule, the guarantors' promise, "no ribbis", and signature lines for the borrower, each guarantor and the gemach.
Tips
- Gemach money isn't counted as giving and gets no receipts.
- Borrowers get a reminder text 3 days before each payment that has no check held.
- Add another guarantor later on the loan's page under "Guarantors (ערבים)".
If something isn't working
"The borrower can't be their own guarantor"
Pick a different person as guarantor.
"Pick who is borrowing"
Choose the borrower from People before clicking "Make the loan".
I don't see "Chesed & gemach".
Your login needs "See the chesed fund & gemach". An Owner turns it on in Settings → Team & roles. It may also be turned off under Settings → Features.
