Contact limits explained
A contact limit stops anyone from hearing from you too often — for example at most 2 messages a week and 6 a month. It counts broadcasts and reminders, but never receipts.
- 1
Open Collecting & reminders
Go to Settings → "Collecting & reminders". The first card is "Contact limit".
Contact limit is the first card. - 2
Set the numbers
Type the most messages one person may get "A week" and "A month" (for example 2 and 6). Leave a box empty for no limit. Press "Save".
Empty means no limit. - 3
Know what counts
Counted: bulk messages from Outreach, pledge reminders, reminder plans and automation messages (except thank-yous for a gift). Not counted: receipts, sign-in codes, answers to people who wrote to you, and card-update notices. Year-end statements don't count either.

See it when sending
In Outreach, people who reached the limit appear under "Left out:" as "Reached the contact limit", and in a yellow box.
Over-the-limit people are listed before you send. - 5
Sending anyway (urgent only)
Tick "Send to them anyway" and type why, for example "urgent: dinner moved". The reason and your name are kept with each message.
A reason is required and kept.
Tips
- The counts look back 7 days and 30 days from right now — not calendar weeks.
- Failed messages don't count toward the limit.
- An automation message that hits the limit is skipped, not sent later.
If something isn't working
"Say why it should go even to people who reached the contact limit".
You ticked "Send to them anyway" — type a short reason in the box below it.
A reminder plan text didn't go to someone.
They probably reached the limit. Check their messages on their profile, or raise the limit.
