Night mode: record gifts fast on campaign night
One screen for the team on the night: the live total with the match, every gift as it comes in, and a quick form to record the next gift in seconds.
Before you start
- Your login needs "record gifts" (Giving: record). Logins limited to "own results only" can't open night mode.

Open night mode
Click "Campaigns", then the "Night mode" tab. Under "Which campaign is tonight?" click "Night mode" next to your campaign.

Read the screen
On the left: the total (with the match), "Gifts & pledges", "Donors", "Last 10 minutes" and the "Latest" list, which updates every 5 seconds. On the right: "Record a gift".

Type the name
In "Name, phone or account #" start typing. Press Enter to pick the first match, or click the right person. Someone new? Click "+ New person" and type their name and cell phone — they are added to People when you save.

Amount and how they paid
Type the "Amount". Tap how they paid: "Card on file" (only shows if they have a saved card), "Check" (add the check number), "Cash" or "Pledge".

How it shows on the screen (optional)
"Shown on the screen as / dedication" lets you show a different name, e.g. "In honor of Bubby". Tick "Anonymous on the screen" if the donor asked.

Save
Press Enter (or click "Record gift (Enter)"). A green message confirms it, the form clears, and the gift appears at the top of "Latest" and on the big screen within seconds. Receipts go out by your usual settings.

Fix a mistake
Click "Undo last gift". Yahiv shows which gift it will take back. A cash or check gift is voided; a card gift is refunded in full.
Undo takes back only the newest gift.
Tips
- Keep one person on night mode per laptop — two laptops can record at once; everyone sees all gifts.
- "Open big screen ↗" opens the projector screen for this campaign, already set to count pledges and show names.
- Use "Pledge" for anyone who will pay later — the pledge gets a pay link and reminders like any other.
If something isn't working
"This person has no card on file — choose check, cash or pledge"
"Card on file" only works if a card was saved on their profile. Pick Check, Cash or Pledge, or save a card on their profile first.
"Pick a person from the list (or add them)"
Typing a name isn't enough — click the person in the list (or press Enter), or click "+ New person".
"A newer gift just came in — look at the list and try again"
Someone recorded another gift while you pressed Undo. Look at "Latest" and press "Undo last gift" again if it's still the one you want.
Undo says "Sent for approval".
Your organization requires two people for refunds and voids. Another admin approves it under Approvals.
I don't see "Undo last gift".
It needs the refunds permission. Ask an Owner to give it to you in Settings → Team & roles.
