Reach out before a yahrzeit, automatically
Have Yahiv make a task (or send a message) a set number of days before each yahrzeit on file, so nobody is forgotten.

Before you start
- Yahrzeits are entered on people's profiles (or on memorial plaques).

Open Automations
Go to Outreach → "Automations" → "New automation".

When: a yahrzeit is coming up
Choose "A yahrzeit is coming up". In "Days" type how many days before, for example 7.

Then: a task or a message
Choose "Make a follow-up task" (for example "Call {{first_name}} about the yahrzeit of {{yahrzeit_of}} on {{yahrzeit_date}}") or "Text the person" / "Email the person".
Write the task or message. - 4
Save
Press "Save automation". Each yahrzeit is handled once a year.
Save it.
Tips
- Yahrzeit messages count toward contact limits.
- Messages wait over Shabbos and Yom Tov when the Shabbos guard is on.
If something isn't working
Nothing happened before a yahrzeit.
Check the yahrzeit date is on the person (or a plaque), and that the automation was on before the reminder day.
The task text shows empty spaces.
{{yahrzeit_of}} is empty when the yahrzeit has no name filled in. Add the name on the person.
