One payment toward two (or more) pledges
A donor sends one check that should pay two commitments. Split it on the gift form: Yahiv divides it and sends one receipt for the whole payment.
Before you start
- The person has more than one open commitment.
- 1
Open the gift form for the person
Click “Record” → “Gift” and pick the person.
- 2
Tick “Split this payment across several commitments”
This tick box appears only when the person owes on two or more commitments. Tick it.

Type each part
Each open commitment has its own box. Type how much goes to each, or click “all of it” to pay one off. The Amount at the top becomes the total of the parts.
One box per commitment. - 4
Choose how they paid and save
Choose Check, Cash, card or another type, fill in the rest, and click “Save gift” (or “Charge card”).
Tips
- One receipt goes out for the whole payment.
- Depositing or bouncing a split check updates all its parts together.
If something isn't working
I don't see the split tick box.
The person has fewer than two open commitments. Check their Commitments tab.
It says “Enter how much goes to each commitment”.
Type an amount in at least one of the boxes.
It says “The parts add up to more than the amount”.
Lower one of the parts.
It says “Saved, but it couldn't be divided between the commitments”.
The money is recorded — don't charge again. On the gift's page, set “Applied toward commitment” yourself.
