Personal ask amounts

Instead of the same amounts for everyone, each person is asked for amounts that fit them — starting near what they usually give and stepping up.

    Turn it on

Settings → "Amounts & messages" → "Personal ask amounts" → tick "Use personal ask amounts" → Save.

Personal ask amounts — one switch.
  2. 2

    How the amounts are picked

Yahiv looks at their last gifts (up to 6, in the last 3 years): their typical gift and their largest. It starts at the bigger of the typical gift and 60% of the largest, and offers four "nice" amounts from there — chai and round numbers (18, 36, 54, 72, 100, 180, 360…).

  3. 3

    Where people see it

On their own giving link: put {{give_link}} in an email or text, and {{ask_amount}} for the suggested amount. Also on call lists ("Suggested ask"), in Who to call today, on their profile, and on printed pledge cards.

Who to call today shows each person's ask.
  4. 4

    New donors

People with no gifts in the last three years get your usual preset amounts.

Tips

  • Personal amounts appear on the giving page only through their own link (from a message) — the public page shows everyone the same amounts.
  • Printed pledge cards (People → Letters, envelopes & labels → Pledge cards) use the same amounts.

If something isn't working

Someone saw the normal amounts.

They opened the general page, not their own {{give_link}}, or they have no gifts in the last three years.

The amounts seem too high for someone.

One big gift raises the start (60% of the largest). On a call, just ask for less — the amount is only a suggestion.
