Record a Zelle payment by hand
When a Zelle payment comes into your bank, record it on the right person so it counts and gets a receipt. If you use the Zelle inbox, this happens by itself.
- 1
Check your bank
In your bank's app, note who sent it, the amount, the date and any memo.
- 2
Open Record → Gift
Find the person who sent it and type the amount.
The Zelle amount. - 3
Choose “Zelle”
Click “Zelle”. Set “Date received” to the day the money came in.
The day the Zelle came in. - 4
Note the memo
There's no special box for a Zelle confirmation number — type it, and the memo, in “Internal note” so you can find it later.
Keep the Zelle confirmation in the note. - 5
Save
Pick a campaign or commitment if the memo says so, and click “Save gift”.
Save the Zelle payment.
Tips
- Zelle gifts don't go to the Deposits page — the money is already in the bank.
- With the Zelle inbox (Settings → Zelle inbox) each Zelle email is recorded on the right person automatically.
If something isn't working
The sender's name doesn't match anyone.
Zelle shows the bank account holder — often a spouse or a business. Search by phone or last name, and link spouses so it's easier next time.
I recorded it, then the Zelle inbox recorded it too.
Void one of the two: open the extra gift → Refund / void → “Void (entered by mistake)”.
