Employer matching gifts

Many employers match their workers' donations. Yahiv spots likely matches from where people work, reminds you to ask, and tracks each match until the money arrives.

  1. 1

    Add where people work

On a person's page, under "Employer & matching gifts", type their employer (and work email). Yahiv recognizes about 75 well-known companies however they're written.

  2. 2

    Open Matching gifts

Open Insights → "Matching gifts". The boxes show the possible match money and what's been submitted.

Possible match money at the top.
  3. 3

    Work the list

Each gift shows the person, company, "Could add", "Submit by" and "Where it stands". After a matched gift Yahiv also makes a task "Ask … to submit a matching gift".

Each gift and where it stands.
  4. 4

    Mark progress

Mark it Submitted, Match received (type the receipt # of the company's gift), or Declined.

    Update where each match stands.
  5. 5

    Email donors their link (optional)

Tick the box at the bottom to also email the donor their company's matching link with the gift details and your tax ID. Press "Save".

Off unless you turn it on.
  6. 6

    Check for new ones

Press "Look for new ones now" after adding employers.

    Scan for new matches.

Tips

  • The company list is built in — check the company's real rules before promising a match; programs change every year.
  • Importing people? A column called Employer or Company comes in too.

If something isn't working

An employer isn't recognised.

Only about 75 companies are built in. Track that match by hand with a task.

The page is empty.

Add employers on people's pages, then press "Look for new ones now".
