See giving month by month (chart)

Show a bar chart and table of what came in each month — useful for spotting slow months and comparing seasons.

Open Insights
Click "Insights" in the menu.
Start on the Summary.

Pick "Last 12 months"
In the first box choose "Last 12 months" (or "All time").
Choose a long enough period.

Group by month
In the second box choose "Group by month" and press "Run".
Group by month.

Read the chart
A bar chart shows up to the last 12 months. The table below has every month with payments, donors and total.
One bar per month.

Compare with what's promised
For the months ahead, open Insights → "Cash-flow forecast": it shows what's already promised next to last year's actual giving.
What's promised for the coming months.

Tips

For a month-by-month list you can download, use the Report builder: Gifts, "Total it up by" Month, then "Download spreadsheet (CSV)".
Months with no gifts don't appear in the table.

There's no chart.

The chart shows only when "Group by month" is chosen and there are gifts in the dates.

A month looks low.

Check the gifts were recorded with the right date, and that pending gifts have cleared.
