Foundation grants
Track each grant: the funder, what it's for, amounts asked, awarded and received, where it stands, and the deadlines and reports you owe.
Before you start
- Your login can view people (to see) or edit people (to add and change).
- 1
Open Grants
Click "Campaigns", then the "Grants" tab. The boxes show "Being asked for", "Waiting for an answer", "Awarded this year" and "Received from grants".
Your grants at a glance. - 2
Add a grant
Under "Add a grant" type "From (foundation / government / funder)", "For what" (e.g. "Security cameras") and choose "Where it stands" (Looking into it, Writing the application, Submitted — waiting, Awarded, Report due, Declined, Closed).
Who it's from, what for, and where it stands. - 3
Amounts
"Asked $", "Awarded $" and "Received so far $".
Asked, awarded and received. - 4
Dates and people
"Application deadline", "Submitted on", "Decision expected", "Report due". Pick who's "In charge", the "Contact at the funder", the web page, and notes.
Deadlines drive the reminders. - 5
Save
Click "Add grant". It's in the list with its status and the next date.
- 6
Update it
Click a grant to open it, change the status or amounts, and click "Save".
Tips
- Use the status buttons above the list to see only "Submitted — waiting" or "Awarded".
- Closed and declined grants are hidden from "Open" — click their status to see them.
If something isn't working
"Who is the grant from?"
Fill in "From (foundation / government / funder)".
A grant disappeared from the list.
Declined and closed grants are hidden from "Open". Click "Declined" or "Closed" above the list.
Grant money isn't in our giving totals.
"Received so far $" is only for tracking. Record the check itself as a gift (Record → Gift) so it's counted and deposited.
