The “Getting started” checklist before you go live

Yahiv keeps a checklist of the ten things to set up before you start using it for real. Most steps tick themselves off as you do them.

Before you start

  • You are an Owner or Admin.
  1. 1

    Find the checklist

On Home, admins see a card called “Getting started · 3 of 10” (your numbers will differ) with the next three steps. Click “See all steps”, or go to Settings → Getting started.

    The checklist card on Home.
  2. 2

    Read the steps

The steps are: your organization's details, connect your card processor, bring in your people and history, check your receipts and messages, choose the parts of Yahiv you use, Shabbos & Yom Tov, invite your team, record a test gift, look over your giving page, and your first backup.

Every step with a “Go” button.
  3. 3

    Do one step

Click “Go” next to a step. It opens the right page. When you finish, come back to the checklist — steps Yahiv can check (like connecting a processor) tick themselves off.

Each step opens the page where it is done.
  4. 4

    Mark the other steps done

Some steps can only be checked by you, such as reading your receipt wording. When you have done them, click “Mark done”.

    Your progress.

Tips

  • Do “Record a test gift” with the test card before you connect your real processor — you'll see exactly what donors receive.
  • “Bring in your people and history” is optional if you start from scratch.
  • When every step is done the card disappears from Home.

If something isn't working

A step I finished isn't ticked.

Some steps tick only when Yahiv can see the result — for example “Your organization's details” needs both an address and a tax ID. Otherwise click “Mark done”.

Staff can't see the checklist.

That's expected. Only Owners and Admins see it.
