Expiring and declined cards (card recovery)
Yahiv keeps recurring gifts alive: it emails donors before a card expires and after a recurring charge is declined, with a private link to put in a new card.

The numbers
"Declined now" (and how much a month is at risk), "Recovered (last 30 days)", and the "Recovery rate".

Declined recurring gifts
Each row: person, gift, where it stands ("Needs a new card", "Will try again …", or "Stopped"), the decline message, and whether the donor was asked and "opened the link".

Cards used by an active recurring gift or membership that expire this month or next.

Automatic emails
Donors are emailed (or texted, if no email) when a card is expiring — once, and once more a month later — and after a declined recurring charge, at most once a week.

Ask yourself
Press "Send update link", or "copy link" to read it to them on the phone. See "Send a card-update link".

Recovered
When the donor puts in a new card, every recurring gift on the old card moves to it, stopped ones start again, and it shows under "Recovered in the last 30 days".

Tips
- A card that can't work (expired, lost, closed) isn't tried again — the donor is asked right away. A decline that may work later is retried on your retry days first.
- Stripe and Sola can also refresh cards through the card networks' updater service — ask your processor to turn it on.
- A phone call plus the link works better than an email alone.
If something isn't working
"No email or cell phone on file — call them, or send the link yourself".
Add an email or cell to the person, or press "copy link" and give it to them yourself.
The donor says they never got the email.
Check spam, or press "copy link" and send it by text or WhatsApp yourself.
