Send a donor their card-update link
A private link where the donor puts in a new card themselves. No card numbers by phone, text or email.

Find the donor
Giving → Recurring → "Need a new card". Find them under "Declined recurring gifts" or "Expiring cards".
Each row has Send update link and copy link. - 2
Send it
Press "Send update link". It goes by email (or text if there's no email). You see "Link sent".
Expiring cards also have Send update link. - 3
Or copy it
Open "copy link" and copy the address to send yourself — e.g. on WhatsApp or while on the phone.

What the donor sees
"Update your card" — "Hi Moshe — this replaces your Visa ending 4242", their recurring gifts, the secure card boxes with "Name on card", and "Save my new card".

Check it worked
Back on the page the row says "opened the link", and once a card is saved the gift moves to "Recovered".
Recovered gifts are listed at the bottom.
Tips
- The link works for 30 days.
- Donors can also text CARD to get their link, or tap "Update my card" on a WhatsApp receipt.
If something isn't working
"Logged (no email provider connected yet) — you can copy the link instead".
Email isn't connected for your account. Copy the link and send it yourself.
Donor sees "This link has expired. Please contact us for a new one."
It's older than 30 days. Send a new one.
Donor sees "Please call us to update your card".
Their card is with a processor that can't take a new card on that page. Take it on the phone and save it on their profile (Add a card or bank account).
