Branches: an umbrella over several shuls or schools
When one organization oversees several shuls or schools, link them as branches. The umbrella sees each branch's totals — never their donors — and each branch keeps working on its own.
Before you start
- You are an Owner of both the umbrella organization and the branch.
- The branch is already its own organization in Yahiv (see “Several organizations under one login”).
- 1
Work in the umbrella organization
Switch to the umbrella organization from your avatar menu, then go to Settings → Branches.
Settings → Branches. - 2
Link a branch
Under “Link an organization”, pick one of your organizations and click “Link”. It now shows under “Branches under this organization”.
Pick the organization to link. - 3
See the branch totals
In the umbrella, open Insights → Branches. Each branch shows money raised this month and this year, open pledges, recurring per month, number of people and last activity, plus a 12-month report. Both download as Excel, CSV or PDF.
Insights → Branches. - 4
Unlink if needed
An Owner of either organization can click “Unlink”. Both organizations' Activity logs record it.
Unlink from the same page.
Tips
- A branch keeps its own staff, processors, receipts and people — nothing moves.
- Branches in another currency are converted using the rates under Settings → Profile & branding → Other countries & currencies.
- Someone on both teams gets an “Open” button to switch into the branch.
If something isn't working
The organization I want isn't in the list.
You must be an Owner of both. Ask the branch's owner to make you an Owner there, or to do the linking.
A branch is missing from the totals.
It uses another currency with no rate set. Add the rate under Settings → Profile & branding → Other countries & currencies.
I can't link a branch under a branch.
That's by design: a branch can't have branches of its own.
