A check bounced

Mark the check bounced so it comes off the donor's totals and off any pledge, and the team gets an alert. If it's deposited again and clears, it counts again.

    What happens

It comes off your totals and off the pledge balance it paid, and an alert goes out (“…'s check for $… bounced — it no longer counts toward their pledge”).

  4. 4

    Follow up with the donor

Log a call on their page and add a follow-up. When they pay again, record a new gift.

Tips

  • Don't void a bounced check — “Bounced” keeps the history of what happened.

If something isn't working

There's no “Mark bounced” button.

Only checks, cash and vouchers have the Deposit box. A card or ACH that failed shows as declined automatically.

It says the month is closed.

A check in a closed month can't be bounced. An admin can reopen the month under Settings → Month closing.
