  1. 1

    Open Address check

Open People and click "Address check" on the left. There are three tabs: "Problems", "Mail came back" and "Post office".

Three tabs: Problems, Mail came back, Post office.
  2. 2

    Look at Problems

"Problems" lists missing pieces, zip codes that lost their first 0, zips that don't match the state, states that aren't 2 letters, and all-capital addresses.

    Each row says what's wrong.
  3. 3

    Fix the safe ones

Tick the rows and press "Fix ticked (safe fixes only)". Others you fix on the person's profile.

One click for the safe fixes.
  4. 4

    When mail comes back

Open the person and click "Mail came back" under their address. They're listed under the "Mail came back" tab and left out of printed mail.

  5. 5

    When the address is fixed

Fix the address on the person, then press "Address is good now" (on the person or on the "Mail came back" tab).

    People whose mail came back.
  6. 6

Check with the post office (optional)

On "Post office", press "Check 100 addresses". Accept the post office's version (with zip+4) for the ticked rows, or ignore it. This needs USPS keys set up by whoever runs your Yahiv.

Compare with the post office's version.

Tips

  • Mailed letters that come back mark the person automatically and raise an alert.
  • Run the check before year-end statements and dinner invitations.

If something isn't working

"Fix ticked" isn't there.

Nothing ticked can be fixed safely, or your login can only view People.

The Post office tab says it needs USPS keys.

Ask whoever runs your Yahiv to add them. The other checks work without it.
