Before you start

  • Your login needs "Download spreadsheets".
  1. 1

From a list (best for Excel)

Open Giving (or People, or Commitments). Search, filter and sort until the list shows what you want.

    Filter the list first.
  2. 2

    Press Export → Excel

Press "Export" and choose "Excel (.xlsx)". You get exactly what's listed, with totals and a line describing the filters.

Excel keeps Hebrew and amounts just right.
  3. 3

    From the Report builder

In Insights → "Report builder", run your report and press "Download spreadsheet (CSV)".

Report builder downloads a CSV file.
  4. 4

Open a CSV with Hebrew in Excel

If Hebrew looks like strange letters, don't double-click the file. In Excel go to Data → From Text/CSV, pick the file, and set "File origin" to "65001: Unicode (UTF-8)". Then Load.

  5. 5

    Everything about people

On People, "Full download" gives every field for each person, with family members, as Excel.

    Every field, with family members.

Tips

  • Excel and CSV include every row (up to 100,000). PDF and Word are for printing and stop at 5,000 rows.
  • Settings → Backups → "Download everything now (Excel)" gives all your data in one Excel workbook.

If something isn't working

Amounts show as text in Excel.

Use the Excel (.xlsx) download — amounts come as numbers you can add up.

There's no Export button.

Your login doesn't have "Download spreadsheets". Ask an admin.
